STRING QUARTET MANILA PLAYS MY WAY

Popular old song remains at heart and still music lovers remember the all time favorite music. Philippine musicians, being sentimentalists  favor the music of the past. A reason why revivals proliferate.  Such music list is founded and given recognition, improvised through an artist's touch making a song or music amazing.

Songs and music are many but few battles the test of time. It remains in the hearts of almost all.

A string quartet or similar combination can do a simple song or music spectacular with emotions put to trigger magical hands to perform -  only professional musicians can muster.

Philippine musicians love to share the classics. Still, romantic music is favored by many, especially those who are getting married. Love songs are must list. Popular songs and music are considered also.

A passionate musician can do all. He knows music tricks to make one cry or liven up someone's mood. Such gifted artist and a Filipino musician is one rare music genius compared to many.

CLASSICAL MUSIC - AUGUSTINE MUSIC STRING QUARTET PHILIPPINES

Weddings in the Philippines are still personal in nature with sentiments involved but when it comes to wedding music more go for the beautiful tones of classical music fit for a ceremony by gifted string quartet passionate enough to let high-browed music stay.

Classical music started in the year 1896 and was notated by serious composers having in their minds pieces that would last for a long time and because of their complexity they are written down for serious performance. The piano or keyboard and the violin comprise the major instruments to create rich tone complimented with a wind instrument and a bass sound required to have a fuller tone.

This form has an emotional content and intellectual interpretation of the piece is presented and make use of musical development where musical idea or motif are repeated in contexts or in altered forms that of a sonata or symphony. It employs rigorous form of musical development that progresses with delicate tempo to maintain an interpretative texture with subtle musical variants.

Serious classical musicians attain their high technical achievement through laborious music studies and consider the importance of tonal and harmonic principles and the mastery of sight reading a music score plus performance practice which is often. That is a classic know-how.

Classical repertoire exhibits artistry through the use of themes, phrasing, harmonization, modulation and the texture of the musical form itself to give justice to the piece for greater appreciation.

It has been said that classical music is for the upper class society and the middle working class doesn’t appreciate the art is a fallacy. Classical music is favorably chosen for backgrounds in movies or films and great concerts are staged by popular world class opera singers and musicians and they are sell-outs. General society is long time educated not only in the arena of pop culture but the classics which will stay forever.

It is a recommendation not only for cultural shows but weddings especially here in the Philippines where music is given much consideration. When the bride walks the aisle, a traditional wedding march music is normally a classical score to create a certain drama – the like of Pachelbel and Mendellsohn music and many others. It gives you a certain feel listening to such music as classical wedding musicians fade it out then silence.

WEDDING MUSIC EXPLAINED – AUGUSTINE MUSIC AND EVENTS

Wedding singers in the Philippines are one of the best in the world and this pride carries us as the wedding musicians capital country. One big difference is the emotion put to music and Pilipino Singer has a heart for something romantic and nostalgic.

Still there are others who need to understand the rigors of proper beautiful singing to elevate the standard of the art. Not only singers are advised to carry the merit but wedding musicians and string quartet ensemble are around to spread the beauty of music.

When someone carries a tune, he or she says I am a singer not giving much thought how the interpretation affects listeners. Almost all can sing and really love the art but the real passion doesn't come to play. There are those who are gifted with good voices and what needs is honing but there are more who like to sing just to express.

Singing is simple act but what comes from within is what lacks. Most singers today sing as if shouting to the top of their voices thinking that the louder the voice is, the better. There are few singers who sing with mustered control and that should be the case. Singing is like a conversation expressed in a different manner more lyrical and dramatic tones. The reason, too that competent performers realize their feelings. The emotion put to a song is rooted from experiences sad or happy and the tone carries it all and reveals your soul.

These are few considerations to remember to put soul to a song:

Examine the lyrics of the song. It is similar to poetry with a rhyme.
Find out what the song tells. Few lyrics comprise a whole story. A summary of it all.
Listen to the melody. Discover if it is something romantic or needs dramatic interpretation.
Determine how it flows. You can be creative by employing a certain style of your own.
Feel the melody. You alone can put color in your special way.
Choose the beat how you want it done being the artist. Employing the free style singing is the safest with how your feelings go. You can use all the emotions called for just surfing with the flow.

When you find a song to be interpreted, it is but proper to choose a pianist who has the same passion with regards to music and there a beautiful music is crafted with two souls making the best of a music gem.

Singing is a special gift to be shared and the memory it creates remains to those offered. It recalls your passion and eager to participate what music has to give:

Beauty
Memories
Relaxation
Joy
Artistry

Just a word of caution. Never tarnish a song just for fun. Remember that a piece of music comes from God and what comes from Him is always good. Sing with me.

Joyous Moments With A Balikbayan From New York

To date this is the joyous reception I attended. And the couple really spent a fortune for this big day. The physical arrangements of the venue alone held at the Pavillon of Oasis was short of spectacular. There were white railings with the chandelier in the middle as the main focus making it like a harem of the modern world. Their motif was light royal blue and white transforming the place into elegance. There was an open bar with lots of cocktails and hard drinks were abundant. And they hired DJ Jeff to provide the house music and dancing after the program.

It was a privilege to host the reception program as their coordinator insisted me to do the honor. I did the standard flow and when the bouquet and garter ceremonies were in, the single ladies and guys wholeheartedly participated to find partners. Some came from the states and all of them participated and stayed until the program was over. Most had drinks making them more hilarious and uninhibited and really enjoying the party. I think everybody were free-spirited and felt their joy as they went on with the celebration.

I ended the program with glee helping me shout loud – “Mabuhay ang bagong kasal!”

And really most of the guests danced to their hearts’ delight.

Friday

Reception Splendor

It was a drizzling day from morning till late afternoon but the memory serving the couple was a delight from heart and another list of memories stored…

It was an early afternoon wedding at Our Lady of Lourdes Church but the air was cool around because of the light drizzles invading the exteriors of the church. It was 1:00 p.m. when the ceremony started and went well with our music added for flavor as always.

There were many guests who came and filled the venue at Villa de Oro. I was mesmerized with the splendor of the place with gold as main color around. It prompted me to take pictures. Half of the venue was intended for the principal sponsors, parents, members of the entourage and special guests.

The moment the couple entered, they danced with our music of “moon river” with fog effects invading the dance floor and bubbles that created a fairy tale come true. They had their second dance in the midst of the program but the father of the bride did the first honor and handed his daughter to the groom after a while with a guest serenading them with the song “hanggang.” The festivity took quite awhile but the enjoyment on their faces were etched and what more happiness but for the couple.

When the affair was done, the drizzles subsided ready for us to leave and another enjoyment from heart. When you love what you’re doing time flies very quickly.

Moment With The Most Beautiful Bride

It was their wedding and I arrived with my errand boy carrying the heavy keyboard to be used in the church because in Sanctuario de San Jose you have to bring your own keyboard equipment and what they provide is one microphone for all. We were the first ones and saw nobody yet and it was 3:15 p.m. and their wedding was set for 4:00 p.m. After 10 minutes guests kept coming in droves. Most of the guests were simple folks and heard many arrived from the province of Bataan who were dressed for comfort. And that is acceptable, anyway. And the couple understood because their mere presence was enough flavor to add for the celebration. Most of their relatives were present and enough for the couple to be joyous about.

It started on time and the priest who officiated the ceremony is their relative, if I am not mistaken. We played the canon in d as processional march and when the bride walked the aisles she opted for a compact disc of "Only Time" to be played and used my player. As she walked you were staring a queen. She was the most beautiful bride we saw for quite sometime. Her aura filled the air.

The homily was a touching one. The priest’s voice was so controlled that made us listen and every word was meant. Seldom could you hear an officiating priest unhurriedly doing his part. Haste makes waste, as the saying goes and the priest was an exemption. He knew how to pace his doings and the ceremony was a hit. A very good one, indeed. One of the best ceremonies I observed.

Then for the offertory we did the standard piece of Take and Receive as requested and for the communion we did Lead Me Lord. We could say we added solemnity to the occasion, especially when they exchanged their vows, we played a soft background music of Cinema Paradiso, one of the most touching music of all time.

When the ceremony was over, pictorial ensued and we did five music selections timely for the recessional march and did the famous, Four Seasons with a lilting touch

The reception was set at The Glass Garden a 30 minutes drive from the church. As usual we were in such a splendid place for the fifth time and we could still appreciate the place. It’s a place enclosed in a glass with plants on the sides and some mini waterfalls making it a tiny paradise. The place is not that huge and if I am right it could house 300 guests to the maximum.

The moment all guests were in after a short cocktail the program started. The program was okay with not much expectations only the sound system was not that perfect. Sometimes technical problems happen but minimal to say the least. There was much reverberation in the place and hardly could you understand what the person was saying. The sound man was not aware but things went well to say safely. At least, we did the very best we can. My last song was interrupted with on and off microphone and just to finish the song I sang without the microphone projecting my voice to a big place with lots of people around. Rather than stopping, I played safe. I was sure the guests understood that I was not to blame but still received some applause. And that made me cool.

After the program, most of the relatives stayed for some drinking spree. We stayed a bit for a couple of drinks after a sumptuous meal. Leaving the place gave us another euphoria having expressed our passion for music and did our share for the festivity.
